Fried Green Chile Strips

Green chile strips battered and fried, served with a dipping sauce.

Ingredients

  • 10 roasted green chiles peels, stem, and seeds removed
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup water
  • olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Mix well, then add egg and water, stirring well to form a batter.
  2. Heat a large pan over medium-high heat with 1/2" of olive oil.
  3. Batter green chile, then place in oil, frying 30 - 60 seconds per side, until browned. Repeat for all remaining chile.
